Unavoidable School Closure
At Lostock Hall Academy, the safety of our students and staff is always our priority. In the event that the school is required to close due to unavoidable circumstances, such as severe weather, we will communicate this information to families as quickly as possible using the channels below.
Synergy
This is our preferred method of communication, as updates can be published quickly and accessed at any time. If you are aware of a family who may have limited internet access, please consider sharing any important updates with them. Thank you for your support.

Working in Partnership to Minimise Disruption
We recognise the impact that any school closure can have on students and families. Wherever possible, we will work in partnership with parents and carers to minimise disruption to education. Before taking the decision to close, we will always consider whether the school can remain open fully or partially, including opening for selected year groups where it is safe and practical to do so.
Remote Learning
If a full or partial closure is required, students will be expected to continue their learning remotely. Parents and carers are encouraged to refer to the Remote Learning Guides below, which explains how learning will be delivered and the support available to students during any period of disruption.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation and thank you for working with us to ensure that disruption to students' education is kept to a minimum.
